Who We Are
Mulga Projects is an Indigenous-led, for-purpose organisation grounded in care and growing with purpose. Like the mulga tree that endures and adapts in the harshest conditions, we draw strength from resilience, connection, and the environments that shape us. Our work is guided by deep respect for people, culture, community, and by a genuine commitment to walking alongside others. Everything we do is shaped by a belief in the strength of community, the importance of relationships, and the power of culturally grounded support to transform lives.

Our Culture
Mulga Projects was established to address a critical gap in Queensland’s social services landscape. One where the combined factors of First Nations leadership, lived experience, and culturally grounded practice are not only present but central to how services are designed and delivered.
Too often, systems are built around communities rather than with them. Mulga Projects exists to shift that paradigm. As a First Nations-led, not-for-profit organisation and registered Indigenous business, we bring together professional expertise, deeply lived experience, and perspectives shaped by diversity and neurodivergence. This foundation allows us to deliver services that are responsive and genuinely reflective of the communities we walk alongside.
Our point of difference is not just who we are, but how we work. We are an organisation where community is at the centre, both internally and externally. Mulga Projects is a place where people feel safe to speak up, to ask questions, to challenge ideas, and to contribute meaningfully. We actively create space for diverse voices, recognising that innovation and better outcomes come from inclusion, respect, and shared ownership.
We are intentional about fostering a culture that values and acknowledges people. We recognise contributions, encourage collaboration, and celebrate achievements together. In this way, we are cultivating a strong, connected community of practitioners, partners, and families.
Mulga Projects stands for a different way of working: one that is culturally informed, community-driven, and grounded in lived experience. Our purpose is to deliver services that are safer, more inclusive, and more effective while building a workforce and organisational culture that reflects the values we seek to see in the systems around us.
Diversity, Inclusion & Equality Commitment
We are a female-led, First Nations organisation shaped by people with lived experience across our neurodivergent and culturally diverse communities. Diversity is not simply just a statement for us; it is the starting point for how we lead, who we hire, and how we walk alongside the people who use our services. We work to create a place where people feel they can show up as themselves, be heard, and have their experiences inform what we do, whether they are part of our team, our partners, or our community.
